Family Communication

At Marion Primary School, we value strong partnerships with our families and are committed to keeping you informed and connected with your child’s learning.

Our school newsletter is published fortnightly using Microsoft Sway, an online platform that allows us to share important updates, celebrations, and school news in an engaging and accessible format. The newsletter helps families stay up to date with events, achievements, and key information about school life. A link to each new edition is sent to families via EdSmart and is also available on our school website.

Class Communication via SeeSaw

For direct communication between teachers, students, and families, we use the SeeSaw app. SeeSaw enables teachers to share learning updates, classroom activities, student progress, and reminders in real time. It provides a safe and user-friendly way for families to stay connected with their child’s classroom and to participate in their learning journey.

If you need assistance accessing the newsletter or SeeSaw, please contact our Front Office for support.

Governing Council

The Marion Primary School Governing Council plays an important role in supporting the strategic direction and ongoing improvement of our school. The Council is a partnership between parents, carers, staff, and community members working together with school leadership to help shape the future of the school.

Role of the Governing Council:
Provides input into the school’s vision, policies, and planning
Contributes to decision-making about finance, facilities, and resources
Supports events, fundraising activities, and community engagement
Acts as a link between the school, families, and the wider community

Membership and Meetings:
The Governing Council is made up of elected parents and carers, staff representatives, and the Principal. Elections are held annually, and all parents and carers are invited to nominate for membership.

Meetings are held twice per term and provide an open forum to discuss school priorities, upcoming events, and matters raised by the school community. Meetings are held on Tuesday nights at 6:30pm.

Get Involved: Being a member of the Governing Council is a valuable way to contribute to your child’s school and learn more about how our school operates. If you would like more information about the Governing Council, are interested in joining, or wish to raise an item for discussion, please contact the Front Office.
