Sports

Students have many opportunities during the school year to participate in diverse sports activities, including Athletics and Run Club, as well as clinics within their PE program such as Lawn Bowls, Orienteering and Tennis.

Sport is a great way to build confidence and develop hand-eye coordination, make friends and teach how to get along with different personalities. Students learn to share the disappointments of losing together, but also experience the thrill of winning together. It is a fun way to develop that little extra fitness and most of all it promotes how to be a team player. Parent involvement is encouraged at practices and at matches and also on the Sports Committee. All participants receive a trophy at an end of season presentation.

Marion Primary provides many different After-School Sports such as Auskick, Cricket, Netball, Basketball and Soccer.

Additional sports are organised when there is sufficient numbers of players showing interest and availability of coaches. In the event of insufficient numbers or coaches the school works with parents and surrounding schools to ensure students are still able to participate in their chosen sport.

SAPSASA (South Australian Primary School Sports Amateur Association)

Students may have opportunity to participate in a wide range of sports at District and State level through the South Australian Primary Schools Amateur Sports Association.

Netball, Football, Cricket, Basketball, Soccer, Cross Country, Softball, Athletics, Swimming and Tennis are some of the sports that Marion Primary School students have represented in.
